Installation of B&W Base Rails on 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 with a 6 Foot 3 Inch Bed

Question:

Good morning! I purchased the BWRVK2600 rails along with the Patriot 18k Slider hitch for my 2007 Ram 2500 short box. I thought that I had a 6 1/2 foot short box but as it turns out I have a 6 foot 3 inch boxdidnt know they made various sizes of short boxes. I did some research and noticed that this gentleman installed it on his 6 foot 3 inch box but it hits his tailgate when the slider. Im fine with needing to put the tailgate down but wanted to know if I install the BWRVK2600 rails using the same measurements as a 6 1/2 box. Thanks!

If I follow correctly, you have a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 with a 6 foot 3 inch box. Our site shows "6-1/2 Foot Bed" and you are concerned about installing the B&W Base Rails, # BWRVK2600. Yes, these install the same as the long bed, 8 foot bed trucks and our site's text simply adjusts most all listing to 6-1/2 Foot Bed for most any short bed (excluding the new super short 5 foot beds) or 8 foot beds for long bed trucks. Even though some manufacturers are making long beds at 8 foot 2 inches.

I looked at your order and you do have the correct bed rails for the vehicle listed. If the slide action will cause your 5th wheel pin box to engage the tail gate or not also depends on your particular RV combined with using the B&W Patriot 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider, # BWRVK3270. You may not have the same issue as the person in the video that you reference as their issue is the combination of hitch and particular pin box.
