Does the DeeZee Tailgate Assist Lowering System prevent bouncing of the tailgate?

If you had the DeeZee Tailgate Assist # DZ43205 installed on your tailgate and it was down if you were to hit a big enough bump that the tailgate will lift up at all it would lower slowly. So in a way it would prevent bouncing.
