Winch Strap Option for a Shelby 5405 Winch
Question:
I have a shelby 5405 winch for my boat trailer. Will DL14996 strap work on the same winch? If so how complicated is to install?

The Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch # DL14996 uses a 2" wide strap like the Winch Strap with Hook # DL6148. With Shelby being out of business we can't verify a fit but I can provide you with some measurements you can use to verify fitment.
The Winch Strap with Hook # DL6148 is a 2" wide x 15' long strap and uses a winch bolt that measures 3" long and 3/8" in diameter; hopefully you can use that and compare it to your strap to see if it will work.
The installation is relatively easy as long as it is the correct fit. I have included a video that gives a review of the strap and also shows the installation.
