What 60 Inch Plus Crossbar System do You Recommend for a 2022 Chevy Colorado with Naked Roof?
Question:
Looking to put roof racks on a 2022 Chevrolet Colorado crew cab truck. What is the best option for a 60+ rack?

Expert Reply:
The absolute best option for a 60" and longer crossbar length is to use a Yakima crossbar system on your 2022 Chevy Colorado Crew Cab. This is because the Yakima crossbars specifically have bottom channels that extend the entire length of the crossbar. Other crossbar brands have channels that only extend so far, and the fitment of those crossbars cannot be confirmed on systems over 60" long.
With that being said, I recommend the following setup:
- Yakima JetStream Crossbars - Aluminum - Black # Y00426 (60" long) or # Y00427 (70" long)
- BaseLine Towers for Yakima Crossbars - Naked Roofs - Qty 4 # Y28TR
- BaseClip Fit Kit for Yakima BaseLine Roof Rack Towers - Qty 4 # Y06110
- Yakima Same-Key Lock Cores # Y07204
The Yakima JetStream roof rack provides you with a super aerodynamic system that provides a quieter ride and increased fuel efficiency. With this rack, you receive 165 pounds of maximum weight capacity. The lock cores provide theft-deterrence to protect your investment. As with all roof racks, I recommend consulting with your owner's manual to make sure your roof can handle the weight you wish to transport.
As a word of caution, it is important to note that we recommend measuring the end of your driver's-side to the end of your passenger's side mirror to make sure that the crossbars do not extend past them. Having crossbars that extend past the mirrors is not only illegal in some municipality, but it is also extremely dangerous.
