Is Jacketed 2 Wire Resistant to Salt Water
Question:
Is this wire tinned? Is this wire resistant to salt water corrosion due to immersion when offloading a boat trailer in the ocean?

Expert Reply:
The wire that comes with the Jacketed 2 Wire (Brake Wire) - 12 Gauge # 12-2-1 is not tinned but you could tin the ends where you're making your connections if you choose to do so.
This wire is also resistant to corrosion from water in general - it doesn't have a special rating for salt water. It is perfectly fine to use on a boat that is being used to offload a boat into the ocean.
Some actions you can take to help extend the life of your wiring (and trailer in general) are to use Heat Shrink Butt Connectors, 5-Count # DW05745-5 or 10-Count # DW05745-10, for your connections since they seal out that water, and then be sure to take a hose to your trailer once you get out of the water so you're diminishing the effects of the salt water as much as possible.
