Weight Distribution with Sway Control for 2011 Gulfstream Sport
Question:
Im looking to buy a 20ft 2011 Gulf stream sport from a friend. I have photos of the tongue. it is stamped the tongue weight is 2,100 lbs and not to exceed 14k gross. I looked up the trailer on the gulf breeze website, it says the hitch weight is 440lbs, can you tell me what is going on? I dont have the model yet but the floor plan is exactly the same as a 2011 breeze sport 20 TRB. I have a 2018 Ram power wagon I plan to pull it with and need to pick the correct weight distribution/ sway hitch. please help.

Most likely you read the coupler's capacity that is installed on the trailer and not actually what the trailer will be when towed. So based on what I found for your 2011 Gulfstream Sport you'd probably be looking at a tongue weight of around 750 lbs. For that I would recommend the Strait Line part # RP66084 which has a tongue weight range of 600-1,200 lbs and features only sway control that works to fight sway before it starts.
