Suspension Enhancement Option For Gooseneck Trailer With 12,000 lb Tandem Axles

Question:

Hey Y’all , Im looking for an air ride kit that will fit my 2022 Lamar 40’ Gooseneck flatbed trailer with dual axle rating of 12000 lbs for a GVWR of 24000 LBS. Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome! Would an after market air suspension system work or the sumo supper springs rating of 5000 lbs. Would I need four units or the standard two on the rear axle like a pick up ? Any how hope you can help me get my answers… thank you in advance

While there isn't an air ride suspension upgrade for your gooseneck with tandem 12,000 lb axles, and the SumoSprings with a 5k rating would get smooshed under such a heavy load, there is one option, from Timbren:

- Timbren Trailer Suspension Enhancement System Heavy-Duty Trailers # TTRA5602

This kit has a weight rating of 16,000 lbs, so you'd want one for each set of axles. It'll help cushion the load and provide added stability for the trailer, helping with sway and particularly with body roll, because the Timbrens will engage independently depending on the weight being transferred on either side.

The # TTRA5602 do require some drilling and welding to install, and I highly recommend checking out the installation instructions, which I linked for you below.
