Brake Controller Installation on 2015 Toyota Highlander
Question:
Hello, I am very interested in your E-Trailer Trailer Brake controller for my 2015 Toyota Highlander. I dont have the necessary abilities to install it myself and none of the trailer brake installers I have contacted have installed your system. Can you recommend an installer that specializes in your products? I am located in Edmonton Alberta Canada.

Installing a brake controller using our # ETBC7 install kit is a pretty straightforward proposition. If you don't already have a specific brake controller in mind, I'd recommend the Tekonsha Primus, part # TK90160 which is a reasonably priced brake controller that would work great for you.
You'd begin by installing an operable 4 pole trailer connector using part # 118449 which provides access to the taillight circuits for the trailer to use.
The # ETBC7 kit contains everything necessary to install the controller, including the needed wire, hardware, circuit breakers and the adapter to convert the 4 pole provided by the # 118449 to a 7-way.
I don't have any information about recommended installers in Canada, but I've linked to the instructions for the # ETBC7 kit, as well as to install videos which you could show to the potential installers. Any competent mechanic should be able to complete the install without difficulty.
