Location of Brake Control Port on 2012 Ford F-250 XL with OEM Tow Package
Question:
Where is connection in dashboard or under it and how do I get to it?

Typically the brake control port that allows connection of an aftermarket trailer brake controller on the 2012 F-250 is located behind a small dashboard panel slightly to the right of center (toward the passenger side). Please refer to the photo provided.
Behind this small panel, which can be removed with a flat-blade screwdriver or trim panel tool, you should find a wire harness with a grey connector (this may be secured with a zip tie). This connector mates with the corresponding grey plug on the custom wire harness # 3034-P. The other end of the harness will be routed down to and through the access hole at the bottom of the dash (a flashlight can make it easier to find this hole) for connection at the back of the brake controller.
I have also linked the complete installation instructions for your reference.
Since your F-250 has the OEM tow package the required fuses and relays should already be in place in the power distribution box within the engine compartment. If necessary you can find the locations and required values for these in your owners manual.
