Availability of Bike Rack that Can Swing Away from Rear of Vehicle for Cargo Area Access
Question:
Hey guys, Does the Yakima BackRoad 4-bike rack have the ability to tilt away from the cars hatch WHILE it is loaded with four bikes?? I have only seen pictures/videos of the rack tilted away from the car hatch with no bikes on board. Thanks!

The Yakima BackRoad 4 Bike Rack # YA44FR can only tilt with bikes off of the rack. If the bikes were on the rack when tilted the inside bike would hit the ground and the rack would be very difficult to raise and lower.
For a 4-bike rack that can give you cargo area access with bikes loaded you'd want the Thule Apex Swing part # TH9027XT instead which can swing out and away from the rear of the vehicle with bikes loaded for total access to the rear of the vehicle.
