My contact at Redline advised that their Replacement Drive-In Trailer Wheel Stud, part # 165995, which has a spline diameter of 0.54 inches, can be driven into a hole diameter from 0.50 inches to 0.52 inches.

My contact at Dexter advised that if you are able to hammer the old stud out of the hub (from the front, opposite to how it was installed) without deforming the hole or changing its size, then the replacement should fit properly without any need to drill the hub.

If needed a punch can be used to help drive out the old stud. The fit of the stud just needs to be snug enough to prevent it from rotating when the lug nuts are tightened or loosened.
