Adding Additional Sway Control To a Reese Pro Round Bar Weight Distribution
Question:
Hello, I pull a 2600lb travel trailer with this hitch. Can I purchase a sway control to use with this hitch? If so, what do you recommend?

Yes, the Reese Friction Sway Control Kit # 83660 can be used with the Reese Pro Round Bar Weight Distribution # RE34FR. You may need to move the brackets back on the weight distribution hitch to get the ball for the sway control at its 24" center hitch to sway ball. You will be able to do this since the weight distribution hangers are located 24-1/2" to 27-1/2" back from the hitch center.
Do remember that you will need to remove the friction sway hitch before backing up or driving on extremely tight roads.
If you want something more user friendly the Tuson Asymmetric Sway Control # 335TSC-1000 is the way to go. This system mounts to the trailer and when it detects sway it activates the trailer brakes to correct it and keep the trailer straight.
