Compatability of the Replacement Multi-Tow 7-Way & 4 Pole Connector with 2008 Chevy Silverado
Question:
i have a 2008 chevy silverado with a 7 way plug but have a trailer with 4 way plug. my trucks connector is on the rear bumper will the 20119 adapter work

Yes, the Replacement Multi-Tow 7-Way & 4 Pole Trailer Connector, item # 74682, will work as a replacement for your factory connector. This connector does not install in the original factory location without drilling (see video) and will have to be mounted near the hitch with the included mounting bracket if you do not want to drill mounting holes in the bumper.
If you would like to retain the factory 7-way connector and just add a 4-way connector you could use the 4-Pole Trailer Adapter for GM trucks with Factory 7 Way, item # 118384, and a mounting bracket, item # 18144, to install the 4-way connector inline with your original 7-way connection. This is the option I would go with as long as the original 7-way is working properly.
You could also use the Pollak 7 Pole to 4 Pole Connector Adapter, item # PK12716, to make your trailer connection also.
