Why Is The Bend On My Jet Ski Trailer Axle Pointed Down Rather Than Up?

I noticed yesterday that the axle on my double place trailer for my jetskis, that the bend is facing downward, tires are wearing normal and even, but I’m concerned this is wrong and need to replace my axle.

It sounds like either the person who assembled the trailer or a previous owner may have place the axle under the leaf springs rather than on top of the leaf springs rather than using the correct Over-Under Conversion Kit # K71-384-00. This is often done by those who are wanting more ground clearance and do not understand the axle design. If you do not see any damage to the axle you can have the conversion kit installed to place the bend going up.
