Question:
Hi, Im getting ready to buy a travel trailer and getting my truck prepped. Im looking for a break controller and possibly air springs. Could you provide recommendations for both? 2007 Silverado 1500 Classic 4x4 5.3L engine extended cab. Thanks

I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195 for your 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Classic. This will be a plug and play installation with the factory 7-way on your Silverado by using the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter # 3015-P. The P3 has built in diagnostics and a customizable LCD that make using and troubleshooting brake issues easier.
Rather than using air bags that will only reduce sag you will be much better off with a weight distribution hitch. The weight distribution will help reduce sag and also reduce trailer sway. You will need to match the the correct weight distribution hitch with the weights on your camper. I recommend the Equal-i-zer weight distribution hitch as it is Made in the USA and comes with a lifetime warranty.
Trailers up to 6,000lbs with a tongue weight of 200-600lbs # EQ37060ET
Trailers up to 10,000lbs with a tongue weight of 600-1,000lbs # EQ37100ET
Trailers up to 14,000lbs with a tongue weight of 1,000-1,400lbs # EQ37140ET
You will need a 1-7/8" 12pt Thin Walled Socket # ALL643216 to install the included hitch ball that comes with the weight distribution hitch.
