Does the Curt # C18115-117 fit My Curved OEM Crossbars on My 2007 Toyota 4Runner?

Question:

Interested in the Curt Roof Mounted Cargo Basket for a 2007 4Runner. I believe it has the factory crossbars and roof rails. The crossbars have a bit of a bow to it, not exactly straight. Will these crossbars work for the Curt Roof Cargo Basket?

I went ahead and looked up some photos of a factory roof rack system on your 2007 4Runner. From the pictures of the OEM rack, you are correct in that there seems to be a slight upward bow to the bars. Without knowing the true curve of the bars, there is a way that you can tell whether the Curt Basket # C18115-117 can fit onto your bars.

The first thing you need to do is measure the height of the crossbars from the roof to the bottom of the crossbar where the bars connect to the side rails. Then, you need to measure the height of the bottom of the crossbars in the exact center (where the bow is at its highest extended point). Then, subtract the central measurement from the height where the crossbars connect to the side rails. If this difference does not exceed 1-5/8", the clamps on the Curt Basket are long enough to grip the rails even with the bowed point on the crossbars.

Also, I recommend making sure that your factory crossbars do not exceed 3 inches wide in order for the clamps to grip the.
