Trailer Hitch and Bike Rack Recommendations for a 1996 Audi A4 and Cruiser Bike
Question:
I have a 96 Audi A4 and Im pretty sure this bike rack will work for the car. However, will the rack hold my 32inch Cruiser bike? The weight is 40lbs and will be the only bike on the rack at a time. My concern is the shape of the bike frame.The top frame bar is not straight. It does curve down some.

The Thule Passage trunk mount bike rack # TH910XT does fit the 1996 Audi A4 sedan. However, the single bike weight capacity of the rack is 35 pounds or 70 pounds for 2 bikes. No one bike can weigh more than 35 pounds so this rack is not going to work.
Unfortunately none of the trunk mount bike racks that fit your A4 have the capacity to hold a 40 pound bike. What I recommend is to use a trailer hitch, # C11169, stabilization strap # 18050, and a bike rack that will fit a Class I trailer hitch. For a bike rack I recommend something simple like the Curt # C18085.
