Is There A Weight Distribution System Shank That Can Work In A 3" Receiver?
Question:
looking to purchase a 3inch shank weight distribution hitch that is 18inch Long, 8inch rise, 4inch . My new Ford truck has that type of a receiver.

Expert Reply:
There are no weight distribution shanks that fit into a 3" receiver, however I do have a workaround.
I recommend using a reducer sleeve, like the Curt Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeves # C45408, which will allow you to use a 2" or 2-1/2" WDS shank in your 3" receiver.
From here, you can use the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank # EQ90-02-4600. This shank is 18" long, has 8" of rise, and 4" of drop.
This shank has a maximum tongue weight capacity range, of 600-lbs-1,400-lbs.
