Best Value Flat Tow Set up For 2015 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk

Question:

Is it possible for you guys to basically build me a flat tow set up for my 2015 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk? I will be flat towing it with a 2017 Thor 31FE Class C. I am looking for the best set up, BUT I also am sort of cheap, so the cheaper the set up the better too. Also, do you recommend the Mopar flat tow wiring for the electronic power steering that I think my new vehicle has??? Thanks

We can get your 2015 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk set up to be flat towed, and we'll get you the best value. As far as the Mopar flat tow wiring harness, that is needed for a '15 Cherokee Trailhawk with the electronic power steering, yes. It is now part 68321424AD and you can get it from Jeep. That will eliminate the "death wobble" but you'll also need a standard flat tow wiring harness for the lighting connections. So that said, I'll go ahead and list out the parts you'll need to flat tow your Jeep:

- Base Plate Kit: etrailer Invisible Base Plate Kit # e98952

- Tow Bar: etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar # e34ZR

- Wiring Kit: Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-152-98146-7

- Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-156-25

- Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Motorhomes # RM-156-75 (Only if motorhome has no charge line already)

- Supplemental Braking System: Roadmaster InvisiBrake Supplemental Braking System # RM-8700

- Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751471

The etrailer Invisible base plates are not only going to help your Jeep maintain its factory appearance due to their removable tabs, they are also the best value for base plates. You'll connect the SD tow bar to those base plates, and you'll do so from a good distance away - nearly 52 inches - which is exactly what you want because tow bars with a long reach allow better tracking of the tow vehicle behind your motorhome, and easier maneuverability. The tow bar also comes with integrated safety cables and an adjustable tilting head so a high-low adapter won't be necessary.

The diode wiring kit will prevent any type of electrical feedback to your Jeep's electrical system, and you'll also need the battery charge line kit because your Jeep's battery will drain as it is being towed. If your motorhome does not have 7-way or charge line kit you'll need to provide that as well.

As for the braking system, the InvisiBrake gives you a system that allows you to choose the braking power you want, and even allows you to monitor the braking via monitor in your motorhome that lights up when the brakes in your Jeep are activated. The stop light switch is also a needed component in order to ensure the monitoring system is activated.
