Replacement Hub and Drum Assembly for 15,000 Pound Axles

Question:

Hello, I’m looking for a solution to rebuild/retrofit the hubs on a 1980’s Miller Tilt Top tag trailer. The axles are 15k, floating tandem duallies with greased bearings. Ultimate goal is to get away from the clamped split rim and go to a more modern setup.

Although I do not have an option to retrofit your hubs I do have a solution. What I can offer is a complete replacement with the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for Heavy-Duty 15K Axles # DX78QR. If you're just looking for replacement races, bearings, and seals we have those available as well.

This hub uses an 8 on 275 mm bolt pattern. It would also require switching to oil bath from the grease. In addition to the hub and drum assembly, or for replacement bearings and seals, you would need the following parts:

Replacement Dexter Axle 4-3/4" x 1-1/2"-20 Press-In Wheel Stud - Qty 1 # DX97XR

Replacement Race for 3984 Bearing # 3920

Replacement Race for 28682 Bearing # 28622

Replacement Trailer Hub Bearing - 3984 # 3984

Replacement Trailer Hub Bearing - 28682 # 28682

Replacement Brake Drum Mounting Bolt for Dexter Trailer Hub Assembly - 10,000 lbs - Qty 1 # 7-103

Replacement Oil Cap Kit for 9,000-lb to 15,000-lb Dexter Axle # RG04-270

Oil Seal # 10-56 (this can be used with grease as well)

Kodiak Synthetic Bearing Oil for Oil Bath Hubs - 8 oz Bottle # XLPROLUBE

I have attached some review and installation videos for your reference.
