The Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver item # 24816 fits all models of the 2004 Mazda 3 including the sedan. I have linked an installation video and the instructions below. I took a look at these instructions and there are no differences in the installation method between the sedan and hatchback models.
If you need a wiring harness for your Mazda 3 I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector item # 118420. This harness will provide a 4-flat vehicle connector for you to control your trailer or accessories lighting functions.
