Location of Brake Controller Wiring on 2004 Buick Rainier
Question:
My 04 Buick Rainier states that it has provisions in the factory wiring for a brake controller. It has the factory 7 spot connector in the back. Where can I find the plug on the vehicle and where do I order the plug in from?

The tow package on your vehicle does not utilize a plug, you do not need one. The tow package wires are located under the dash, and can be accessed by removing the two screws that hold the trim piece on the bottom edge of the dashboard. Gently lower this trim piece, and you will be able to see the 4 blunt cut wires taped to the main wiring harness on the left. There will be black wire, which would attach to the white wire on the controller, a dark blue wire which attaches to the blue controller wire, a orange wire that attaches to the black controller, and a light blue wire which attaches to the red wire on the controller.
