Installation of Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box
Question:
Can the connection to the 5th wheel be adjusted to allow a greater distance from the gooseneck ball in the bed of the truck so that the clearance above the side rails of the pickup are increased? I notice that there are at least 3 bolt holes and there is about 2” between them. Increasing the distance to the 5th wheel just one setting would increase the clearance by 2”. I hope this question is clear no pun intended.

The Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box, # GY66FR is a replacement pin box for the Lippert 1621 or 1621HD models. I think I follow what your question is and the answer is yes, there is allowable adjustment. When replacing the currently installed pin box on your 5th Wheel RV, you do not have to use the same bolt locations.
