What is the Height Clearance of the Malone AirFlow2 # MPG215 on a 2015 Volkswagen Touareg?

I do not see clearance measurements. It says these fit a 2015 VW Touareg but it is not clear if it was tested with opening the sunroof. My Thule bars fit, but I cant open the sunroof, can it open with these installed?

While we do not have the exact measurements of the height of the Malone AirFlow2 Roof Rack - Aero Crossbars - Raised, Factory Side Rails - Aluminum - 50" Long # MPG215 on a 2015 Volkswagen Touareg with raised rails, we do have an approximate measurement for you. The reason why we cannot provide an exact measurement is because it truly depends on how the crossbars clamp onto the rails and the overall height of the rails.

From the looks of photos of your 2015 Volkswagen Tourareg, the raised rails are considerable shorter than most other vehicles. However, since the 2021 model of the Volkswagen Tiguan also has shorter crossbars, the measurements on that vehicle can give you a great conservative approximation of your height. With the Tiguan, the AirFlow2 measures just shy of 2-5/8 inches tall. With that height, I recommend measuring your sunroof at the highest point when opening to see if it rises that high. I went ahead and attached a video to provide you with perspective.

While you technically can open your sunroof with the AirFlow2 installed, we do not recommend it due to the noise factor.
