Parts Needed To Install a Trailer Brake Controller On a 2000 Chevrolet 3500HD Cab and Chassis

Question:

I assume there has to be a way to hard wire in a brake controller to this truck. The website has no listings for this type of truck. The 3500hd cab and chassis differs from the regular 3500 of that year. I don’t think it has any pre wired system in it. The picture is of the truck I’m talking about. Thanks!

Yes, you can add a trailer brake controller to your 2000 Chevrolet 3500HD cab and chassis as it does not any pre-wiring from the factory. The Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7 will provide you with the wiring needed to install a trailer brake controller. I was able to find a installation video of this with a Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195 being installed on a 1997 Chevrolet Flat bed that will be similar to your cab and chassis.

The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118315 will provide you with a 4-way flat connector for the 7-way if you do not already have one.
