Recommended Trailer Suspension Enhancement For Trailer That Leans To One Side

Question:

My 2018 Coachman Catalina is leaning to curbside side about 1.5” when I measure at the wheel well. When inspecting the leave springs they look to be flat in that side. Is new heavier springs the way to go? If so how do I know what springs I need?

Depending on your exact 2018 Coachmen Catalina travel trailer the lean may be due to the weight of a slide or kitchen on one side of the camper and is common on several campers. I find the best way to correct this is by using SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs. The springs provide additional support to the trailer leaf springs and will help to level your Catalina. There are 2 different styles for underslung or overslung axles. Finally you will need to match weight for your trailer axles.

SumoSprings Overslung 3,000-5,000LB Axles # TSS-107-40
SumoSprings Overslung 5,000-8,000LB Axles # SS26MV
SumoSprings Underslung 3,000-5,000LB Axles # TSS-106-40
SumoSprings Underslung 5,000-8,000LB Axles # SS33HR

You do not want to mix and match trailer leaf springs as it can cause damage to the axles, but you will want to inspect your leaf springs and other suspension components for any damage as that would also cause them to flatten out.
