Can You Switch from Lippert Turning Point Pin Box to Sliding Reese 16K 5th Wheel Hitch
Question:
I have a 2019 Ram short bed with Reese’s 16k hitch. I am towing a fifth wheel with lippert turning point hitch. The hitch is very difficult to hook up for me. What are my options? Slider? Recommendations? Thanks

If you don't like the rotating pin box you can lock this out so you don't have to use the wedge but this also means you give up turning clearance. If you want to switch to a sliding hitch then you can do so pretty easily with a new base, the Reese Square Tube Slider part # RP30048 or Reese Round Tube Slider part # RP50024. That said, you do need to make sure you lock out the pin box using the prescribed procedure outlined by the pin box manufacturer.
