I bought a 2017 F-350. I was told by the owner that I needed the 5th wheel hitch, part # bwrvk3400-5w. What is the difference between that and bwrvk 3500?

The B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part number # BWRVK3400-5W is a slide type hitch while the B&W Companion part number, # BWRVK3500 mounts as a Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter and requires the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch, # BWGNRK1116 installed for mounting. Each have the same Dual Jaw - 20,000 lb. hitch head.
If you have a long bed truck with the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch, # BWGNRK1116 installed, then you want the B&W Companion Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter, # BWRVK3500.
If you have a short bed 2017 Ford F-350 Super Duty and need a slide type hitch, then you want the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider, # BWRVK3400-5W.
