Can I Use My Blix Sol Eclipse E-Bike with the RV Rider # HLY64FR for a Flat-Towed Jeep Wrangler?
Question:
Wondered if this rack would hold a Blix Sol Eclipse e-bike? The bike is laid back, and wondered if the clamps would reach some part of the frame, or seat post? The bike has a wheelbase of 50.6. Weighs 56#. Looking to fix to back of 2019 Jeep Wrangler 4 door that I tow behind my class A motorhome. The spare tire is mounted to outside back of Jeep. Distance from center of pin hole to outside edge of spare tire is 9. Thanks PS- As a workaround I see you have the adjustable bar that can run between the seat post and handlebar stem.

I have a great solution for you. Unfortunately, the Hollywood Racks RV Rider # HLY64FR does not have enough shank length to clear the rear spare tire of your 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. This is because the measurement from the shank length of the RV Rider is only 7-1/2 inches from the center of the pinhole to the closest part of the rack. However, you can use a hitch adapter that will provide you with more length such as the Brophy # HE06 to extend your setup past your 9-inch clearance requirement. Although, while this would work, it is important to note that using the adapter reduces your overall hitch weight capacity by 50%. Just to give you perspective of the cradles, I went ahead and attached a picture of a neighbor using the RV Rider with a similar bike style as your Blix Sol Eclipse e-bike. With the versatility of the cradles, you do not need a bike frame adapter bar. Also, the effectiveness of the included anti-rattle hitch pin definitely helps with sway control of the rack.
