Recommended Weight Distribution Hitch That Will Allow Tailgate On Truck To Be Lowered With Trailer
Question:
Hi, I have a 4000lb trailer going on to a 10,000lb hitch. I need to extend it out enough to get out from underneath the lift gate on my pick up. I also intend on using a weight distribution hitch too. Do you have an extender that will work for this application?

Since you are going to use a weight distribution hitch I recommend the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank # EQ90-02-4600 with their Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution # EQ37061ET. The shank is extended to 18" versus the standard 12" long allowing it to clear truck tailgates(See Image).
The Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution # EQ37061ET does not include a shank so you will not have the extra shank. It has a tongue weight capacity of 200-600lbs with a maximum trailer weight capacity of 6,000lbs. A 1-7/8" 12pt Thin Walled Socket # ALL643216 is needed to install the included 2" hitch ball. A 2-5/16" Hitch Ball # EQ91-00-6100 is available if your trailer has the larger coupler.
