Can a Slider 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch be Used on a 2008 Ford F-450 Super Duty with 8 Foot Bed
Question:
I have a 20K head RP30081 that works great with my 2008 F450 with 8 foot bed pulling a 39 ft toyhauler. However, I can not get the battery box door or the generator door on the front of the trailer open when hooked up - need about 2 more inches of space. Is there any reason I could not install a slider RP30048 on this rig allowing me to slide the trailer back making more room to open the front doors on my trailer? Only to be used when stopped! For me, an overlooked but important feature of a slider!

You can use a slider even on an 8 foot bed. You would use # RP30048 that you have referenced. When slid back it will give you an additional 10 inches of clearance. You will just need to remove the head and cross member from your existing fixed 5th wheel hitch and bolt it to the slider base. I have included a link to the instructions for you.
