c55106 not working on my trailer 2010 Honda CRV

Question:

I installed my wiring harness on my CRV 2010 and it does not light up my trailer. My old CRV 1998 harness did work previously. My questions are is this the correct wiring harness? And if so, what voltages should i expect to see coming out of the plug from the Honda side. From the Honda side I get constant 12-13v from white to brown when lights are on, Intermittent from white to yellow left signal and intermittent from white to green right signal. If this is correct, then I may have to rewire my trailer. Do you have a wiring schematic for either the trailer or from the honda side?

First, if you are getting any voltage on the white wire that indicates a short to ground and could mean that there is a problem with the converter. But if you are getting voltage just on the brown, yellow, and green wires around 12 volts then it is working properly. I have included a link to an FAQ article that will help you troubleshoot the vehicle side trailer wiring harness.

On a 4-Way, the white wire is the ground, brown is running lights, yellow is left turn and brake light, and green is right turn and brake light. I have included a link to our wiring FAQ that shows how a trailer side is wired as well.

It sounds like there might be a ground issue on the trailer side (if the vehicle side is indeed working and not shorting to ground). Make sure that the trailer connector is clean and free of corrosion. Then make sure that the main trailer connector ground and all the light grounds are attached to clean and corrosion free bare metal surfaces.

Wiring # C55106 is one correct harness for a 2010 Honda CR-V.
