Weight Distribution Recommendation for an Airstream Travel Trailer Dry Tongue Weight 770 lbs

Question:

I would like your recommendations for an anti-sway weight distribution hitch for my Airstream. Tow vehicle is 3/4 ton pick-up. Trailer GVWR=7,600, Hitch Weight=770 without cargo, unit base weight=5,824 unloaded. Thank you

When choosing a weight distribution system, it is important to choose a system that can handle the ready to tow tongue weight of your towing setup. This includes the tongue weight of the trailer when it is loaded plus the weight of any cargo that is loaded in the bed of the truck behind the rear axle. I have attached an FAQ article on how to determine your tongue weight for you to check out.

One system that may work for you is the Reese Steadi-Flex System, # RP66560. This system has an effective tongue weight range of 600 lbs to 1,200 lbs and should work well for you. Again, it is always best to verify your tongue weight before purchasing a system.

The Steadi-Flex systems do not include a hitch ball. If you need a 2 inch hitch ball, then you can use part # A-90. If you need a 2-5/16 inch hitch ball, then you can use part # 19286.
