Bluetooth Trailer Brake Controller and 7-Way Compatible With PWM Wiring On a 2014 Audi Q7
Question:
My question related to the electrical side of things for a towing a camper, with breaks, I hear my 2014 Audi Q7 has PWM output which means I may run into issues beyond using an adaptor to go from existing flat 4-pin to round 7-pin adaptor. Is this PWM mean I cannot tow? I plan to use a bluetooth brake controller. Thanks very much for any insight.

The PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) on your 2014 Audi Q7 will not be an issue for towing as long as the 4-way converter used is compatible with PWM wiring. The Vehicle Wiring Harness # C59236 is an example of one of the 4-way flat harnesses that is okay to work with the PWM on your Audi.
Adding the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit # ETBC7 will not be an issue as the power wire for the charge line will connect directly to the battery with a circuit breaker to protect the wiring. You will not have any PWM on the charge line wire since it does not go into the ECU on your Audi. This will allow you to use a Bluetooth brake controller like the Curt Echo # C51180 or Autowbrake # 3430001. I recommend the Autowbrake over the Curt as I have seen less issues over time and the included remote is easier to use than the phone app.
