How to Increase Clearance for Hollywood Racks RV Rider Bike Rack on 5th Wheel Trailer

Question:

Purchased this rack for mounting onto our 5th wheel, however the rack does not fit a 2022 Montana. After we realized that there would not be enough space for the rack to mount and leave room for the bike tire holders to be installed, we attempted to install on our 2021 Jeep Wrangler, sad to report that it does not fit. The hitch of our jeep is at the furthest rear set of our bumper but sadly the arm of the mount coming out of the hitch does not clear the factory spare tire mount. Wondering if you can offer any solutions to making this fit? Or perhaps suggest a different carrier. Sadly in my review of current options, seems like they pretty much have all the same geometry.

To help gain some extra clearance of the Hollywood Racks RV Rider Bike Rack # HLY64FR with the spare tire on your Jeep as well as your 2022 Montana 5th wheel I recommend checking out the Replacement Shank for Gen-Y Adjustable Ball Mount # 325-GH-503. This will allow your bike rack to sit further out by 7-1/8" and has massive 2K tongue and 16K towing weight ratings so you won't have to worry about these holding up with the 5th wheel application.

I do recommend picking up the Anti-Rattle Hitch Stabilizer # e99007 and Locking Hitch Pin # 34061072-D to secure your investment and limit the movement of your bike rack.
