Flat Tow Items For 2004 GMC Sierra
Question:
Have 2004 gmc Serra 2500HD 4WD diesel powered. Would like to flat tow behind my RV. Do not want mechanical brake controller on floor of drivers seat, so AiForce one? Heavy duty tow bar 10,000lb will be putting 2,000 lbs of motorcycles in bed of truck.

I recommend the Demco Classic Base Plate Kit, # DM9517148. With no external crossbar it means that only the base plate tabs are visible but with hidden reinforcement there is less of the bracket showing. Match these to the etrailer XHD Non-Binding Tow Bar, # e94ZR that is rated at 10,500 lbs. The non-binding design allows you to easily release your vehicle, even on unlevel ground as the trigger release on each arm easily activates, even when under pressure. This comes with needed safety cables included and no need for high-low adapter on most setups as the adjustable head tilts up or down 3" to keep tow bar parallel with road during towing. A properly installed set up requires the tow bar to be within 3" of level. Both components are made in USA.
You will need a wiring solution to tie your motorhomes indicator lights to the GMC, I suggest the Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles, # RM-152-1676-7.
If you want a fixed system instead of portable, and have a motorhome with air brakes, the Demco Air Force One Supplemental Braking System w/ Wireless Coachlink, # DM26VR is a great choice. Otherwise, I suggest the Demco Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System w/ Wireless Coachlink Monitor, # DM86VR
