B&W Slider for a Turnover Ball System

Question:

I am in the process of purchasing a Forest River XLR Micro Boost 301LRLE. This is a 5th wheel toy hauler and I plan to pull it with my 2018 Ram 2500 6.5 bed which has a BandW gooseneck hitch installed already. I am wondering which gooseneck/5th wheel adapter would be best for my set up? I want to make sure I have the clearance for the trailer. Thanks in advance for your advice.

Since you already have the B&W Turnoverball item # BWGNRK1384 in your 2018 Ram 2500 you will need the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider item # BWRVK3400-5W. The Companion will attach to your turnover ball system and provide you with the ability to pull your Forest River XLR Micro Boost 301LRLE. The 1" thick dual jaws provide a 360-degree jaw-to-king-pin contact. This causes less rattle and provides more security than slide-bar jaws. The built in slider gives you 12" of additional clearance.

If you don't already have it I recommend adding the Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness w/ 7-Pole Connector - 10' Long item # C56000 to your set up. This harness provides a 7-way connector in the bed of your truck. It also allows you to keep the one on your bumper. This will provide you an added convenience when towing.

The B&W Companion weighs over 250 lbs. If that's not something you're interested in moving by yourself and don't want to have to rely on someone to help you then I recommend purchasing the B&W 5th Wheel Lifting Device for Companion and Patriot Hitches item # BWRVXA3130. This heavy duty steel tool lets you lift your B&W 5th-wheel hitch from your truck bed with a hoist. The 5th-Wheel jaws clamp around the device for a secure grip.

Don't forget your lube plate. The Lube Plate for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches - 10" Diameter item # RP83002 will prevent scratches on your fifth-wheel's skid plate and ease trailer hookup.
