Can B and W Gooseneck Ball Replace Curt that Was in 2017 GMC Sierra 3500 OEM Rail Kit

Question:

I have a 2017 GMC 3500. It came with a Curt Gooseneck ball, which is now stuck and will not come out. The ball was installed with the factory pucks in the bed. Assuming I can get the Curt hitch out, can I replace it with a B and W ball using the factory setup? If so, what Band W model should I consider and how big a deal is it to install in my circumstances?

Once the Curt ball is removed you could replace it with the B and W gooseneck ball part # BWGNXA2061 you mentioned as this is designed to fit the rails that you have now.

To remove the old ball the first thing you will need to do is apply liberal amounts of spray lubricant to all of the moving parts that seem stuck. Sometimes it helps to apply some, wait an hour or so and apply more and then do whatever it takes to pry the ball out.

You might also try getting underneath the truck bed and hit it with lubricant from that angle and move the moving parts around to help free things up.
