Recommended eBike Rack For Travel Trailer & Truck With 2 Inch Trailer Hitch Receiver

Question:

what do you recommend for a ebike rack that each bike weighs 64 lbs.??? I would like to use it for both a Grand Design Imagine XLS travel trailer with a hitch receiver on back and a Ford F150 pickup.

We can get you set up, because there are two bike racks that are rated for use behind a travel trailer and have the needed capacity for your 64 lb electric bikes:

- Swagman E-Spec Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes # S94FR

- Lets Go Aero V-Lectric FAT PRO Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes # LGA77FR

Both will work for you, though there are some differences, starting with the way your bikes are secured. On the V-Lectric # LGA77FR, your bikes are secured completely at the wheels with cradles and wheel straps. This means no contact with the frame, and any frame style will work so long as the wheelbase is no more than 50 inches. It will also hold bikes with tires up to 4-1/2" wide.

The E-Spec # S94FR will fit bikes with tires up to 3" wide, though adding the Fat Tire Adapter Kit # S64679 allows the rack to carry bikes with tires up to 5" wide. This rack secures your bikes via wheel cradles and frame hooks, so while standard frames will work just fine, if you have a step-through frame you will need to add the Swagman Bike Frame Adapter Bar # S57FR. This adapter will give the E-Spec's frame hooks something to attach to.

Between these two, the best option is really going to depend on the frame style of your bikes; for two step-through frames the V-Lectric # LGA77FR will be easier to use. But if your bikes are standard frames and not step-through frames then go with the E-Spec # S94FR.
