The Swagman XTC4 4-Bike Carrier, part # S64665, you referenced, is designed to be used on a Class lll hitch.

Your 2010 Mercedes E350 is rated for a class l hitch, so you would need to make certain you consider a class l bike carrier. Although there are a few 4 bike carriers that will fit a class l hitch, when a class l hitch is installed, only 2 bikes can be carried. Keep in mind that any carrier you wish to consider for your Mercedes needs to be a class l carrier.

You will need to determine the clearance distance for your Mercedes when considering a rack. You will need a straight edge, like a yardstick or a dowel rod. You hole the straight edge vertically against the back of the bumper, making sure it extends below the trailer receiver. Then measure from the center of the hitch pin hole on the receiver to the straight edge. This will give you the minimum clearance you need for your bike rack to clear the vehicle. I would recommend the Thule Doubletrack Pro XT Bike Carrier, part # TH92BJ. This rack will carry 2 bikes with most frame styles, including childrens and womens bikes. It also folds down to allow access to the rear cargo area of the vehicle.
