Can You Replace A 3 Wire Propane And Carbon Monoxide Detector With A 2 Wire Detector

Question:

I have a defective 3 wire Atwood 33636 co2/propane detector. Do i need to replace it with another 3 wire or will a two wire one work? Which is best the RS34FR, RS54FR or the RS 94FR? I have a 2016 Coachman Freedom Express Plus will it come with a current date or one one or two years old already?

**2-Wire RV Propane Gas and Carbon Monoxide Detector - 12 Volt - White # RS34FR.

The three wires are two red and one black. Black is ground and the red are for power. Only one red is needed however as one red is only used for a backup power source.

Make sure the detector is mounted no more that 18 inches from the ground or floor so it can accurately detect and warn you.
