What is the Vertical Travel on Equa-Flex Cushioned Equalizers

Question:

I currently have the dexter heavy duty solid equalizer and I am looking to upgrade it. The current gap between my fender and the top of the tire is not very big. I am concerned about the vertical travel of this equalizer and also any of the other shock absorbing equalizer. My current equalizer is 4 inches tall and about 6 inches wide on 33 inch axel spacing. The trailer is for a 2019 Nitro Z20 boat. What new equalizer would you recommend?

I reached out to Lippert and found that the travel on the Equa-Flex Cushioned Equalizers # LC279687 is up to 4". When choosing an upgraded equalizer you want to choose one with the closest dimensions to your current equalizer with the width being the most important. For your trailer I recommend the Road Armor Shock Absorbing Equalizer Kit - Tandem Axle - Qty 2 # LC696740.

The Road Armor has the same width at 6" and the height is 3-1/2" which is a much better match when compared to the Equa-Flex. This also has less travel at 3". The total travel is 6" but that is due to the fact that the 3" of travel is both up and down. This is designed for trailers with an axle capacity from 3,500-8,000 lbs.

This would also be a good time to upgrade to wet bolts and heavy duty shackles. For this I recommend the MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit for Tandem Axle Trailers. You will want to choose the kit that matches your current shackle size. If you have 2-1/4" long shackle straps you need the # MR46ZR and for 3-1/8" shackle straps you need the # MR76ZR

I have attached some review and installation videos for your reference.
