When Should I Replace My Trailer Tires?

Question:

I got these 3 years ago Kenda 4.80-12 Bias Trailer Tire with 12 White Wheel - 4 on 4 - Load Range B and am not having issues with the tires or anything and they still look great but was wondering should these tires be replaced after so many years of use or are they just like regular car tires. I got them for a jon boat trailer and am new to trailering and it just crossed my mind as I had to re register my trailer and boat this year. Thanks for any advice you can give.

In general, we here at etrailer recommend changing trailer tires every 5-6 years. This includes tires like your Kenda 4.80-12 Bias Trailer Tire with 12" White Wheel - 4 on 4 - Load Range B # AM30540. This time period starts when the tires are actually used on your trailer between and if the tires were stored in a covered and controlled environment.

However, if the tires are stored outdoors or in extreme weather conditions, this can deplete the lifespan of the tires faster. If there are any fine cracks on the tires' sidewalls, this is an indication that they need to be replaced.
