The CIPA Hot Spot Square Convex Mirror, part # 49404, can be affixed to any part of your F-150 main mirror that does not interfere with your primary viewing. Usually they are placed in the lower/outside part of the mirror.
The exact best position for your truck will be most easily found by sitting in the driver seat with your trailer hitched. In this way you will be able to place it where it least interferes with your main mirror view but still provides the best wide-angle views of your blind spots when towing.
It will be best to have a helper on hand who can hold the Hot Spot in different locations until you find the one that best suits your tow vehicle and trailer. Once you find the preferred location the self-stick adhesive will make installation easy. It is a good idea to first thoroughly clean your main mirror surface to ensure a permanent fit. Rubbing alcohol does a great job of removing dirt and oils.
