Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock For Wide 2" Trailer Hitch

Question:

I would like an e98880 lock for my factory hitch on my 2021 4runner. Will this product work ? My pin hole is 5/8 and my tube is 2x2. But there is added steel on the sides of the tube. This added steel has a gap of 1. So my question is what is the outside diameter of the keyed part of the lock ? Thanks for your help.

We do have a hitch lock that will work for you, but the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2" Hitches # e98880 will not work with your 2" receiver that has an added 1" gap. Instead, what you will need is a lock designed for both wide 2" hitches and 2-1/2" hitches:

- etrailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2" and 2-1/2" Hitches # e98881

The # e98881 has a pin with a 3-5/8" length, which is enough for your 3" span. Factory hitches like the one on your 4Runner tend to have wider receivers, and this lock is exactly what is needed for them.
