Will 4 Pole to 5 Pole Adapter 20036 Work on 2017 BMW X5

Will the 4 to 5 pin trailer wire harness adaptor car side pn# 20036 work on a 2017 BMW X5? With the very low voltage/amperage reverse light circuit used on the led bulbs in the reverse lights of the BMW X5, I am concerned the reverse light circuit won’t provide enough power to operate the solenoid on the trailer surge brake lockout and may overload the car curcuit. Is a power booster required for the BMW X5 to operate the surge brake reverse solenoid lockout, the same as is required to operate the trailer lights?

Yes, the Tow Ready 4 Pole to 5 Pole Trailer Wiring Adapter # 20036 will work on your 2017 BMW X5. The solenoid on the lockout draws very little amperage so the lower power draw from the LEDs will not be an issue.

Due to this, no type of power booster is required for the # 20036.
