I have linked the product information video for the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter w/ Offset # CAB-C5GX1216 below that states at the 2:10 "A bolt-on kit for the 5GX has been provided. You must bolt the C5GX to your kingpin box to prevent the adapter from being able to turn on the kingpin." Convert-A-Ball requires only 1-2 holes be used to prevent the hitch from turning and you can choose to drill the hole and tap for 1/2-13 bolts or use the included nuts that are included with the bolt kit.

The installation video of the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter # CAB-C5G does not use the bolt kit as it is not required with that adapter. Since it is a straight adapter and does not have the offset it does not need the extra strength the bolt kit provides to the offset adapter.
