What Adjustable Ball Mount do You Recommend with a 1-7/8" Ball on My 2004 Dodge Dakota?

Question:

I was interested in the FA42-00-2600 adjustable hitch which shows coming with 2 and 2 5/16 balls. Is this same hitch available with 2 and 1 7/8 ?

I have an adjustable ball-mount hitch solution for you. Unfortunately, the Flash E Series Adjustable 2-Ball Mount w Chrome Balls - 2" Hitch # AM3410 does not come with a 1-7/8" ball option. Also, we do not carry any reversible 2-ball assemblies that work with the # AM3410.

With that being said, a great solution is the B&W Tow & Stow 3-Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 7" Drop, 7-1/2" Rise # BWTS10049B. With the Tow & Stow, you get the 1-7/8" ball with the 2" and 2-5/16" balls. It also allows you to slide the adjuster to get virtually the same 6" drop and 7" rise of the # AM3410. To top it all off, the Tow & Stow is made 100% in the U.S.A., so you can be confident with the quality.

It is important to note that the B&W Tow & Stow measures 4-7/8" from the farthest pinhole to the closest edge of the mounting block. Also, the mount requires a minimum of 11 inches of ground clearance to use the lowest drop on your hitch if you have one installed already. I recommend measuring the ground clearance level as well as your bumper clearance length to make sure your hitch fall within these specs.

If you need a hitch recommendation for your 2004 Dodge Dakota, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch - 2" # C13280. Even though we do not have the exact fitment of the Curt hitch on your 2004 model of Dakota, we have fitted it on a 2003 model. On that 2003 model, the fitment does give you the required bumper clearance length and ground clearance to use the # BWTS10049B. The fitment of the Curt hitch on your 2004 model will be virtually the same.
