Why Can't Rivets of 2012 BMW X5 be Used When Installing Draw Tite Hitch 75600
Question:
Hi, Ive just purchased part #75600 a trailer hitch for my 2012 BMW X5 diesel. In the fine print, it states that the plastic rivets that come with the hitch will not work on 2011+ X5s so Im assuming they will not work with my 2012. It says that you can get new rivets from the dealer, but Im wondering if you can just reuse the original rivets the ones that were holding the bumper cover on before installing the hitch?

The reason you can reuse the rivets that come with the Draw Tite hitch part # 75600 is that the old ones have to be drilled out as they are not the reusable kind like what comes with the hitch.
