For a hitch for your 2022 Subaru Forester Sport I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13409. This is a custom fit hitch with a maximum gross trailer weight of 3,500 lbs and tongue weight of 525 lbs so it will be perfect for towing. Make sure to check your owner's manual to see what your vehicle is capable of, you will be limited by whichever capacity is lower. This Class III hitch has a 2" receiver and a gloss black powder coat finish. It features a bolt-on installation and a limited lifetime warranty.

You are also going to need wiring to power your trailer's signal lights. For the most reliable option, I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118467. This plugs directly into existing wring, providing you with a 4-way connection at the back of your vehicle.

For a ball mount, check out the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900. This kit has two ball mounts, one with a 3/4" rise or 2" drop and the other with a 2-3/4" rise or 4" drop. It also comes with a 1-7/8" and 2" ball, as well as a ball mount bag to store everything in.
